There is definitely a lot of crap and inane garbage on the internet trying to exploit good people who want to earn an income from home via the internet. I know this to be true because I have been scammed on more than one occasion. For the last 4-5 years I have been looking, researching, buying and trying many different programs and what I have found is that there is a common thread by which the true internet marketing gurus teach and they are as follows:
1. Find a good solid marketable niche.
This can be done in various ways, look at your hobbies, the job that you are doing now. You can research trends on line to see what is hot right now. Then create a product that can go with that niche, something that can be sold and delivered electronically that can generate an income for you. You might also check sites that have affiliate products that you can promote. This is a good way to get started and not have to build or maintain a website.
2. Keyword research:
This is vital if you want to drive traffic to your site. If you do not get this right then you will be spinning your wheels, get frustrated then quit. There are several ways to do keyword research, Google has a free tool for this, just go to Google and type in Google keyword tool and it will show you how to research keywords and which ones will be good for optimizing your site. You can also choose some very good paid services that are really helpful. Just do a Google search for Keyword software tools. I personally use Market Samurai it’s very robust, affordable and has great tutorials.
3. Create capture page:
If you are serious about making money on line then you must understand that the money is in the list. Yes you must create a way to secure opt in emails to add to your list so you have people to sell other products too. If you don’t do this then you’ll never earn a consistently large income online. If someone tells you it’s not necessary, well they have either never built a large list or are just too lazy to do so. These capture pages are what I call the middleman, this is the place that when someone goes to your website they get sent to a capture page also known as a landing page. Usually this page will give them something for free by signing up with their email address. Once they click submit they will receive the “item” electronically in their email all the while transferring them to your sales page. You can also create follow up emails that will automatically send them additional emails to promote your product, giving you a better chance of making a sale. There are several good companies that can do this i.e. Aweber, Constant Contact, I-Contact just to name a few.
4. Write articles and create back links:
In order to drive traffic you must create articles about your niche and create back links. If you do not know how to do this go on line and Google “How to create Back links”. It really isn’t hard, it’s just tedious. If you take some time and do your homework you will find all sorts of information that will help you accomplish this.
